| | Posted by: A. Glenn Brady | 8/29/2008 | Last night, I sat with great pride, glued to my television, watching in awe the electrifying acceptance speech of Senator Barak Obama, the Democratic nominee for President of the United States. Delivered on the 45th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s famous, “I Have A Dream” speech, this oration will no doubt go down in history as one of the greatest presidential acceptance speech ever given. David Gergen, senior political analyst for CNN, rightfully called Obama’s speech “a political masterpiece,” He declared, “it was in many ways less a speech than a symphony.” Without a doubt, it was a consonance of political sound that received the approval of a standing ovation from over 75,000 screaming enthusiasts in Denver’s Ivesco Stadium, as Obama and Senator Joe Biden, his vice presidential choice, along with their wives waved back with approval. As a product of the tumultuous sixties, with my societal and culture views being formed as a child, I can remember distinctly the issues of that day. I can recall the assassinations of both President John Kennedy and Senator Robert Kennedy. I can vividly remember the devastating riots that occurred in the aftermath of Dr. Martin Luther King’s untimely murder. I can remember the Black Panthers and I can still hear the slogan that began to change the self-image of African-Americans throughout this country, “I’m Black And I’m Proud!” I’ve personally experienced the affect of bigotry, prejudice, discrimination, and racist attacks. So for me, who had heard repeatedly ‘you can become whatever you dream’, Sen. Obama as the first black to accept the nomination from a major political party as their presidential candidate, brought full circle the struggle that so many of my forefathers fought and suffered in securing our rightful constitutional civil rights. In the wake of a successful Democratic convention that brought together opposing camps with the powerful presentations of both Senator Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton and on the eve of the Republicans gathering in Minnesota to declare Senator John McCain as their nominee, the momentum is building to become a fierce and competitive race to the White House. But as Obama concluded his epic message, “American, we cannot turn back. Not with so much work to be done…. At this moment, in this election, we must pledge once more to march into the future. Let us keep that promise -- that American promise -- and in the words of Scripture hold firmly, without wavering, to the hope that we confess.” History has been made and is yet still in the making! The fight is on! Please let me hear from you and how Sen. Obama’s speech affected you. God bless – A. Glenn Brady. | | | Permalink | Trackback |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By T. Brown on 8/29/2008 | | It will certainly go down in history as one of the best. Everyone had to agree they were affected. And now with Palin as the McCain's, it's on to the White House for Obama! |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Anonymous on 8/29/2008 | | How proud I was. Obama's speech was excellent! Everyone in my office is still talking about the entire event. Let us pray for Sen. Obama and keep him covered. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By MC 8/29/08 on 8/29/2008 | | It was surreal for me as the cameras panned the stadium and I saw the sea of diverse supporters. I felt proud and very hopeful that Senators Obama and Biden may actually rescue the White House from Bush/Cheney dishonor. His speech was brilliant and true! I believe that these are two bold and truthful men and that will be refreshing after 8 years of Bush/Cheney "shenanigans". As I listened to Senator Obama's speech I could not help but think about how angry his enemies must be at his apparent fearlessness and boldness and I began to pray for his protection. Let's keep him and his family in continuous prayer. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Michelle on 8/29/2008 | | Last night......all I can do.... is cried and praising God. The touching point for me is that it happened on that very day, 45 years from today, when we were all mantled with"THE PROMISE" by our beloved Civil Rights Leader, Dr Martin Luther King. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Daniel on 8/30/2008 | | Two nights ago, I too sat glued to my television as I watched a man move a nation with nothing but the hope in his eyes, the conviction in his voice, and the charisma in his stance. I admired him, not because he was black, or because he was man, or because he was a democrat, or because he was a Christian; but I admired him because he was all of the above, and still managed to connect to those who are not.

Barack Obama represents what I have always dreamed for America to become; not a salad bowl, but a melting pot. For as long as this country has existed, its citizens have co-existed. We have lived together, but never before have we lived as one. I see that under "President Obama's" leadership, we will live as one. And just like those who aspired to build the tower of babel, nothing that we imagine to do will be impossible to us, because we have come with one accord and in one language.

To all those who cringe at the thought that this one man could have such a powerful impact on so many people; and all those who fear that Barack Obama might be the anti-Christ, please know that even though he has the influence equivalent to that of Nimrod, he also has spiritual wisdom to know that the tower we build with our hearts and our minds will extend far beyond anything we could ever aspire to build with our hands. For this, I am grateful.

I have a savior. He is Jesus The Christ. I have a hero. He is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I have a father. He is Donald Clifford Colvin Sr. I hava a pastor. He is Bishop Norman L. Wagner. And now, no matter what happens on November 4, 2008, I have a president. He is Barack Hussein Obama. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By DT on 8/30/2008 | | I don't know when I've been so proud of the election and all that goes with it. I feel like Senator Obama is a family member. It feels as though a part of each of us is within him.

I am also very very prayerful for he and his family. I feel that what would seem like a pre-attempt to do the unthinkable would be more than the African American race could bear. CAN YOU IMAGINE THE THOUGHT OF LOSING ANOTHER BLACK MESSIAH???? God forbid. It still shows as many have said, there has been great accomplishment, yet there is still great hatred in the world today.

On a slightly humorous note, when Senator Obama talked about his relationship with quote "Mama Biden" it made me think of one of the mothers of the church who would be a prayer warrior. It wouldn't surprise me if Mother/Mama Biden has a prayer and fasting schedule already set for the President and Vice President. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Geverna C. Barone on 8/31/2008 | | Proudly,as an African American student and part-time historian, I believe that the recent presidential nomination of Sen. Barack Obama at DNC was an EPIC MOMENT/MILD STONE IN USA HISTORY!!! As well, this nomination of one of OUR OUTSTANDING AFRICAN- AMERICAN SONS WAS ALSO A FULFILLED DREAM FOR THE LATE HISTORIC STATESMAN FREDERICK DOUGLASS (1818 -1895) , a former slave, who ran away and BECAME one of AMERICA'S GREATEST PHILOSOPHERS EVER, who was ALSO looking down from heaven with a proud smile... Douglass' colleagues(Both European and African Americans smiled with him INCLUDING: Abolitionist/ Mentor/Newspaper Giant,WM. Lloyd Garrison, and Harriet Beecher Stow, Abolitionist and Author of Uncle Tom's Cabin which was credited to have peakED the heart beat of the nation which led TO THE CIVIL WAR ,AND the audacious smiles and nods of the late Dr. Martin Luther King JR,AND MANY ,MANY OTHER SONS AND DAUGHTERS FOR HUMAN, EQUAL, AND CIVIL RIGHTS. | Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Nina T. on 9/1/2008 | | I too am proud to have been a witness of this historic event. I could hardly sit in my seat filled with anticipation, excitement, joy, and every other emotion thinkable for the occasion. I was not old enough to realize the struggles civil rights activists and all those who marched along side of Dr. MLK, Jr. I only read about it in history books and wrote about Dr. King as part of a research assignment. To see the past connect with the present was overwhelming to say the least. Senator Barack Obama's acceptance speech was heart stirring. Anyone who heard, black, white, Republican or Democrate new that it was a defining moment and Barack was a force to be reckoned with that night. It was evident that he had God on his side. My favorite part of the speech was when he |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Nina T. on 9/1/2008 | | My favorite part of Senator Obama's speech was when he brought to the attention of the American people that we are a better nation of people than what has been displayed in the past 8 years. His conviction and boldness to say, "Enough!" was chilling and electrifying. As he spoke, I thought, "Wow! this is the next president of the United States of America." I was in awe of the idea of an African-American male has come this far...only by faith and a divine high calling. I believe this is our time as a race of people to rise with dignity and honor knowing that the struggle was worth it. I also believe that God is setting the stage for His return. We must pray for Senator Obama and his family daily. When he gets into the White House, he will have a lot of mess to clean up before he can get to the real business at hand. (Isn't that how we always have to do it) I don't know what the future holds for him, I don't know how many terms he will serve. I do know that God has ordained this moment in time for His purpose and His plan for His people. This is the time that prayers that were prayed 45 years ago are being answered; for a prophetic dream to be fulfilled and no longer deferred. Thank you Bishop Brady for the opportunity to share comments. God bless you and keep up the good work. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By B.E.T. on 9/2/2008 | | Bishop, I made that night a family affair. I sat with my two sons, as we watched, "The Speech" by Senator Obama. As he took the stage, I said to my sons, "you can be whatever you want to be," "a doctor, a lawyer, a preacher, a teacher, the President of the United States." The fact that Senator Obama is the nominee, gives rise to the fact that our children can now be judge by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin. The fact that Senator Obama is the nominee, means that he has shattered the “class” / “color” ceiling that has for-so-long determined our plight in life. As I am writing this note, I too have been the victim of my own limitation; I stop dreaming. Now, while watching Senator Obama, I can dream again, my sons are able to be whatever they want to be. Senator Obama has taken the “can’t” out of vocabulary. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By gittysbug on 9/2/2008 | | This is the first time since Ronald Reagan that I have watched the entire acceptance speech of a political candidate. I was impressed with the fact that a Black American has been nominated by America whose population is mostly considered White. This is indeed a historical moment like that of electing our first President George Washington or the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. I am extremely proud of Mr. Obama even though I don’t care a thing about his moral and political views. Black Americans only represents 13 percent of this nation’s population, therefore for me this moment in history shows America has changed to now honoring the Constitution of the United States. The greater part of America’s population is unifying to honor all of it citizens. America’s history includes the majority accepting the greatness of Black Americans, but has never accepted Black Americans as leaders. By this singular act Black Americans are now accepted as one with the majority. This is a great moment for Black Americans, more so for Black African Americans. Mr. Obama is not a descendant of former African Slaves. His forefathers never tolled the hot fields of slavery; they were never beating until the breath went from their bodies. Michele is his substitute (we will accept this). Great forgiveness has been shown toward her after the stupid comment she made in the beginning of Mr. Obama’s campaign. Let me clarify that I am a Black American of African, Irish, and American Indian decent. We Blacks did not have enough votes to carry Mr Obama into the primary Democratic Nominee; we don’t have the numbers. However, we played a part. But, what can we do next. First, let us stop trying to enslave us again by controlling our individual free will. Stop telling us that we must vote for Mr. Obama, as if we are controlled again. I say to you that it would be great if we voted for Mr. Obama and make him America’s first Black American president. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By gittysbug on 9/2/2008 | | Is it time to dream or wake-up? The Dream came to past. It is time to move forward. We are like the people in Haggai days. The Babylonian captivity era was over, but they we use to complaining about their prior condition and became complacent. Daniel and others prophesied of the Dream of restoration. The people loved and celebrated the Dream. God showed them that the Dream had come true, but they kept celebrating the dream instead of walking into it. The Dream is now a reality. Let us stop celebrating the Dream and work to do our best to elect Mr. Obama as President of the United States of America. It’s time to wake up. |
|
| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By A. Glenn Brady on 9/2/2008 | | Gittsybug, I'm glad I can quote even you.. "Let us stop celebrating the Dream and work to do our best to elect Mr. Obama as President of the United States." Thanks!
Also, as a reminder, various countries and tribes within Africa also had slaves. Yes very sad, brother against brother! So if you know for a fact that "no" one in Mr. Obama ancestry was ever a slave -- (toiled on the hot fields of slavery or beaten until the breath went from their bodies) -- even in Africa, then you may wish to clarify your statement. But I do at least understand the premise you are suggesting, while I may not agree. |
|
| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By gittysbug on 9/2/2008 | | Bishop, whether Obama’s ancestors from his father side were slaves or not, our issues in America belong to us. If not then the Senator from Connecticut, Joe Lieberman, who is a Jew, has slavery in his ancestry. I am talking about those that slaved at the signing of the Constitution and those that were freed from slavery by the Emancipation Proclamation. This is not Africa or Poland. This is America. We are only talking about America. May I say to all of us who think that Africa is the Mother Land, she is not! Eden was in Asia. We are all going to come up with some ecstatic, overjoyed, excited philosophy about this election that includes a Black America presidential candidate and a woman vice presidential hopeful. Let no one get so excited that they cast off godly and propositional reasoning. I hope that I will be able to pursued every Black American 18 years and older to register to vote this year for Mr. Obama. I believe in the God giving Constitution of the United States of America. I believe that every citizen that qualifies for the office of President should be able to run. Slaves don’t become kings, unless they were citizens. The locals will not allow it. It is an insult for that to happen. The number of voting blacks in America is not enough to make Mr Obama President. This final race to the White House will be about Providence. Who does God wants there. Who will be wise enough to stand up and say, “I don’t like Mr. Obama, but I am voting for him because I want to see a valid candidate that is a Black American become President of the United States of America. The Constitution has been calling for it for years, but the white majority would not allow it. The white majority is ready to allow it and I will not hinder this great moment in history.” This is my argument and premise. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By angela on 9/2/2008 | | I sat in awe as I listened and watched Senator Obama make his acceptance speech to become the next President of the United States of America. Although I have voted in past presidential elections, this current election process was the first time I have ever watched the acceptance speech of any nominee. Before hand, I really had no desire to be involved in politics, but since Barak Obama has been on the scene, I have been following this entire campaign. I was proud to sit and see history being made on that great day, and looking forward to seeing history being made again on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. This truly is “The Year of the Saints” |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Nina T. on 9/3/2008 | | Gettysburg, have you done geneological research on Obama to come to the conclusion that his father or his father's father is not in the blood line of slaves? Curious to know. Even though I don't think that has any bearing on Obama's right to become the first black or African-American (which he is both) President of the USA. Or, that it should somehow exclude him from receiving honor and fame for his accomplishments in this historical hour because he doesn't have roots that stem back to slavery or the struggles of the civil rights movement. As a black man in America, he is as much a part of slavery as the rest of us because of the things he/we had to suffer (i.e. racism, etc.). In the kingdom of God, slaves do become kings. If an individual has claimed salvation in Jesus Christ, he/she is no longer a slave to sin or sinful flesh. We are born again into a royal blood line and become new creatures in Christ Jesus. We are royal priest, kings and prophets. I don't know the details of Obama's conversion, but it is obvious that he has read his bible because he believes God's word, doesn't have a problem quoting scripture during his campaign speeches and is walking by faith in the word of God. That's not political, that's spiritual. His political agenda has to incorporate the citizens of the USA which in many instances may seem to contradict and/or compromise his moral standards. That's why we must continue to pray for him that his faith fail not. What of McCain's politics and morality? |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Jacquie on 9/3/2008 | | I along with others was the first time that I ever sat and watched the entire acceptance speach of any presidential candidate, not to mention glued to the tv throughout the entire Democratic Convention. I sat in awe with excitement to know that Mr. Obama will go down in history as the greatest speech ever given by a presidential candidate. Not only that, but he writes most of his own speeches which is double honor. I believe that whether it is history or not for the entire Afro American Nation, he is undoubtedly the man for the job. He has been one to cross racial barriers, cultural barriers and to communicate with every walk of life. I was extremely proud of Senator Hillary Clinton and the former President Bill Clinton in their speeches to bring this nation together. And what can we say about our first lady to be, Michelle is a baddd girl. She can speak in her own right. I am proud to say that she will be our first lady. I truly believe that this is the year of the Saints and however, the saints pray, that is who will be in the White House. I congratulate Mr. Obama for coming this far in making history, but I expect him to become the next President of the United States of America, because I believe in my own prayers and the prayers ofa the Righteous Availeth much. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Lisha on 9/3/2008 | | BET...your blog has me crying on the job. I had my children tape the message and was pleasantly surprised to come downstairs on Labor Day morning to watch them viewing the speech/symphony. I too am excited and charged for my four black children and for the amazing example that Senator and First Lady Obama have set for them. Yes, WE CAN....Pastor Timothy Carpenter penned years ago a song, "You have the power to become much more than you are" and so with the "class/color" ceiling being shattered, the sky is the limit. I too am personally encouraged to dream again. The night of the speech I sat in my bed with tears streaming uncontrollably down my face just as they are now honored to be alive during this definite mark in history. I too can feel the smile, hear the thumping heart beat and sense the pride of our forefathers. I could literraly hear the voice of my deceased grandmother overjoyed that our time as a race of people has finally come. It is my sincere prayer that those of us who will be afforded some major platforms because of this breakthrough will cease the moment and make God and our fellowman proud. November 4 can not get here fast enough, because the best is yet to come. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By gittysbug on 9/3/2008 | | By Nina T. on 9/3/2008- Yes- his father was not an American citizen. He was a student. |
|
| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By gittysbug on 9/4/2008 | | Nina T, I like and appreciate your response to my comments. Mr Obama is natural born American citizens and qualifies to run for the office President of the United States of America. Regardless of his skinned color. I am voting for Mr. Obama, but I have to express my opinions on this safe blog that Bishop Brady has given us. I cant buy into the hype of him being a descendant of the black African Slaves that were imported from Spain by way of Portugal, and then directly from the western and southern coast of Africa. His father was from the Continent of Africa, but his ancestors never traveled through the torture of American Slavery. The Federal government labor us African Americans even if were born through a conception of a Jamaican male and a Caucasian female. This election is taken place in a democratic government not the Church of God. This is not about the kingdom of God. If this was the Church then yes, slaves to sin do become kings. We are kings and priest to God after we are born again, not because we live in America and run for a government office. Even in the past theocratic government of Israel, no slaves could become king. According to the teaching of the Bible, when a person is saved and born again, there is fruit that eventually shows that Jesus Christ is Lord in a person’s life. Truly born again persons are not perfect, so say the book of Romans, however there is an outward relationship which I have never seen Mr. Obama displaying. To the contrary however, he has criticized biblical teaching calling it “too stowage and misleading. Statements such as if pregnancy is a mistake, fix it. Two men have the right to become sexually intimate. We should choose our own brand of Christianity.” I’m sorry this doesn’t sound like someone is walking in faith and studying the Bible. The entire candidate pool quotes scriptures. This doesn’t change their nature. If his agenda has to incorporate the citizens of the USA, why is it that McCain, Palin and Bush don’t agree with abortion and homosexuality? This is not a valid argument. Mr Obama needs our praye. But, for God’s word sake don’t make him out to be a born again saint of the most high God. I don’t think he would like that very much. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By gittysbug on 9/4/2008 | | Okay everybody let’s talk about last night speech by Mrs. Palin. Putting aside our support for Obama, and being truly objective, how was the speech? |
|
| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Nina T. on 9/4/2008 | | I actually enjoyed her. Just on her speech alone, I would vote for her, if she were a Democrat. I was wishing she was a Democrat and Obama's pick for VP. However, I don't know enough about her to cast a real vote in her favor. The jury is still out on Mrs. Palin. It would have made for an interesting race to the white house if Hillary was the nominee for VP. |
|
| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Michelle on 9/4/2008 | | Last night....I thought her speech was nothing more than degrading towards the American people as a hold.....she's really out of touch. It's one thing to go after someone based on experiences...BUT!!! It's another thing to attack someone who has made so many lives better by working from the ground up. I thought she was distasteful in her attack against Obama. There is a lot I want to say regarding gov Palin, but need to wait.... because my mind are speaking much faster than I can write. |
|
| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Michelle on 9/4/2008 | | you see...I couldn't even write because, I meant to say as a whole, not hold. So I will probably post later... once I'ml calm. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By gittysbug on 9/4/2008 | | Michelle, Michelle, it is so good to see you again. I thought at one time I had lost you to the ‘I’m tired fish’. But I see he has spurred you up and you are now preaching to the choir. You are such and inspiration, so I hope you continue to participate on this site. Now that you are all buttered up, buckler up for the truth. Mrs Palin is playing the other side of the political tactical game of the Democrats. They said she doesn’t have any experience. Through this articulate women both Democratic nominees’ experience were revealed like the noon day sun. I have made up my mind about who I am going to vote for. I sat there last night from the beginning of Mrs Palin’s speech to her very last word. I was greatly impressed with her style, control, ability to move in and out of a constructed speech and even her verbosity. I really liked her. She is running for President. McCain is now a figure head and the Obama people and supporters have a mess on their hands. McCain was almost but runner up to Obama until Mrs Palin came into the picture. I don’t believe she was any more distasteful to Obama than what is necessary in the political dog fight race to the White House. I thought she was brilliant. The thing that we much keep in mind is that she is not the presidential nominee. Her opponents have placed her too high on the debate list. With this said, I like the way she has reinforced the values that we stand for in the Church. God bless this woman, but I am looking for Obama to become the first Black American male President. Hopefully if Mrs Palin is around she will run in 2016, if the rapture hasn’t taken place. |
|
| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Michelle on 9/4/2008 | | Hey gittysbug, my brotha....I feel the same way about you. I'm always happy to see your post, and I do... miss you whenever I don't see your post in a while. I do admit that gov Palin is a brilliant attack dog, and yes I do admire the republican values when it comes to upholding church values,...but unfortunately my opinions about her and the republican in general has not change, because I felt a lot of thing that were said during her speech and at the convention were not true, which really gives me more reasons not to trust them. Gov Palin , to me has done more damage than good by not understanding that connecting with people on ground level like sen Obama is pivotal. When I heard from different commentators saying how great her speech was, I thought it was done with truth and grace, but instead when I watched the whole entire speech for myself this morning around 3:00 a.m, I was surprised to see that it wasn't as great of a speech as some people make it out to be, because it has involved some distortion of truth to make it other-wise believable or applausible. It wasn't a clean attack...the one that state facts on sen Obama's policies and the lack there of. Had the attack been truthful.... and to the point....then that would had made a different. |
|
| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Michelle on 9/4/2008 | | And I like to add that although my personal view on gov Palin is not favorable, she does however is more exciting, and is more articulate than sen Biden; posing a concern for me in the up coming vp debate between them. I won't be surprise if she performs better than him. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By gittysbug on 9/5/2008 | | Michelle, you really came back strong. You probably stayed at the Holiday Inn-smile. Augmentation is an art that must include the use of rhetoric to have a convincing conclusion. The Democrats and Republicans want to conclude that the other is wrong, therefore ‘vote for me and I’ll set you free,” (Temptations) is the rhetorical phrase Red Herring. What they did was to take a good situation, compare it with other situation, drag it through the Convention by eloquent speech and made it stink. This is fair. Notice she won the crown by praising Mr Obama, then she took that build a smoke screen so people no longer saw the effects of his good speeches, but saw that she was equally as good. This is fair. What the Obama camp better stop doing is addressing Mrs Palin. She is running for vice. A vice is only used when you need them. They have stopped focusing on McCain. He is the only one that matters right now. The Obama camp will lose this election if they continue to be mesmerized by the brilliance of Mrs Palin. Can any of you people that have titles contact his Camp and tell them this |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Amaris on 9/8/2008 | | As a senior at Miami University, it was an overwhelming experience to hear Obama's acceptance speech not only because of the content but because of the context in which I observed it. Yes, it was a great speech and yes, it will go down in history as one of the most memorable acceptances of our time, but to see gathered students pack out the public sites of uptown Oxford, OH, was just as memorable. My friends and I were attending a college football game but students began to disperse as time got closer to Obama's speech. Oxford, Ohio is a predominately white city and Miami University is a predominately white institution. To see both blacks and whites support a black leader collectively in a public place was a mind blowing experience. Although, Obama spoke very profoundly and his leadership abilities are difficult to question, I could not help but notice the harmony that is happening right before our eyes.

|
|
| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By jacquie on 9/9/2008 | | Thank you Amaris for bringing us back to focus, because I do believe that this is Bishop Brady's Blogg and it was on the history making of Barack Obama. Gittysbug had no right to bring his own blogg to this cite. But since we are commenting on the vice president nominee, Sarah Paden, I was listening to her pastors speak on CNN last night only to find out that Sara left the church 6 years ago to become a politician and denounced the church where she was supposedly baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost to attend a non-denominational church where she wouldn't identify with the Pentecostals. So if she is denouncing and changing her standard of beliefs, then she had a form of religion and not the truth of God Himself. That tells me she will change in the middle of the stream of a crisis for this country. And as far as "not about the Kingdom of God" that is ludicrous, because God taught his disciples to pray thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven", Everything we do is about the Kingdom of God and that is why God has prepared us in sacred calls for secular places.(Secular not just meaning worldly, but run by the system)It's all about God's kingdom coming to earth as it is in heaven. The earth's is the Lord's and the fullness thereof and they that dwell therein.... |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Kameron Adams on 9/9/2008 | | I must agree with all of the preceding comments that this was a moment in history that will never be forgotten. From what I've been told, this momentous event didn't just effect the homes of Democrats alone, but even an indelible impression was embedded in the lives of many republicans as well. However, I do believe that as we approach the month of November we must definitely cover Senator Obama and his family with continuous prayer, because with every promotion there is an attack that has been strategically designed by the enemy to intercept, the fulfillment of purpose and destiny. But, that's not to say that we must lose the "The Audacity of Hope," because whatever God has promised will come to pass. So, as you said Bishop, history has been made, and is continuing to be made right before our eyes. And I'm excited about it, because this is "Next Time" (The Honorable Bishop Norman L. Wagner). |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Michelle on 9/9/2008 | | Praise the Lord Everybody.....Jacquie, you're right that gittysbug should not had brought his own blog to this cite....LOL....but if he hadn't brought up gov Palin's name concerning her speech ...I most certainly would had, because just last week, we were all celebrating Sen Obama's speech, is when this blog was created. Now that gov Palin has suddenly entered the picture for the republican vp race; her speech has mocked sen Obama's speech and his readiness to lead, which sen Obama has proven. To think about it.... gittysbug has not really changed the subject, but has added how gov Palin's speech has possibly changed those minds from supporting Sen Obama, to now supporting her. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By gittysbug on 9/10/2008 | | Jacquie, I am not using antithesis. I hope to never under-mind the owner of this site to propagate my own agenda. However, since One is never perfectly wise, the changes of detouring into the area of slippery slops are present. It would be totally ludicrous if we expect the kingdom of God to reside any place other than within us (so say the scriptures). But, just because the kingdom of God is within us doesn’t mean we can pray against the divine will of God to make something happen that is not provident. Now, I am voting for Obama. Not because I believe he has been chosen by God to lead this powerful nation, but because I am seeing the rights of the Constitution being honored in my day. As you very well know that we are not in a theocracy where voting is not allowed. We are in a democracy and we must exercise our rights that America has given to us to choose a person for President that meets our individual taste. We are persuaded by many variables to vote, consequently Mr. Obama has few (per me) variables that will cause him to be elected as president; 1) America is looking for change from the current administration. 2) He is an exciting speaker and 3) He is a Black American that has won the hearts of the white middle class and young voters. But he doesn’t possess the moral character that the Church is looking for. Out of his own mouth this is validated. But, this country has put up with like figures since the second President. I can deal with that. For me (Gittysbug) this is a time to help correct the thinking of the Majority regarding the ability of the Blacks in America to lead this country down the right past; God will not allow us to go down the wrong past. However, sin will always be with us as it was in the only theocracy of this world existence. Mr. Obama is my choice for President for the reasons I have outlined. Now concerning Mrs Palin. She is not a consideration for me because she is not running for President. If she was running then I would cast my vote for her. Jacquie, the information you shared with us is common among us. Many of our new apostolic pastors are leaving the word Apostolic off their church name. It is the understanding of the Christian public that Non-Denominations are Pentecostals. This act by Mrs Palin is the same among us. Like Bishop Brazier stated, the theology is applied wrong. I believe that Non-Denominations are cowards, but there is some legitimacy to their madness. Mrs. Palin is what we have been praying for. A Holy Ghost filled, tongue talking, hand clapping, foot stomping saint of the living God(LOL). If you read some of the comments under this site, you will see that we were praying that Mr. Obama join Bishop Brazier church and submit his life to Christ and be filled with the Holy Ghost. Unfortunately Mrs Palin is not running for President or we would have our candidate. I hope that the Democrats understand this before Mrs Palin beats them in Nov 08. Michelle, you are too funny. Thanks my dear sister. Sometimes people other than candidates forget that the opponents must fall under the attacks of the other opponents if the candidate is to win.

|

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By jacquie on 9/11/2008 | | gittysbug, a miracle has happened. I agree with some of what you are saying, but if you had been watching when Mrs. Palin's Pastor of 30 years spoke, he said openly across the world that he had never, never heard her speak in tongues. I believe tongues at least one time is a sign that you have the Holy Ghost. You know that you can attend a church and never be as we call "in or apart" of the church. Therefore, we have to go with a spiritual leader who has been watchman on the wall for her soul in making a infatic statement, that he never heard her speak in tongues. So.... does she or doesn't she. Even the devil can speak in tongues though, and from listening to her history, she has changed midstream on so many issues, it is scarry. I certainly am praying that Mr Obama and his family would become members of Bishop Brazier's church, not only for his salvation, a God thinking mind, but under a Bishop with much policital experience and insight.
|

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By jacquie on 9/11/2008 | | Also to add to your comment that many new apostolic pastors are leaving the name of apostolic off of their church name doesn't make it right. Many times and especially in times as these I thank God for the foundation that was built under my belief in the Apostolic way. I also thank God for my Bishop who is certainly and undoubtedly progressive but when it comes to the Godhead and belief he is unmoveable and that is what moves God. I am totally convinced of that. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By gittysbug on 9/11/2008 | | Jacquie on 9/11/2008- Thanks and let’s encourage every American to vote for Mr. Obama. Our agenda may be different, but we can arrive at the same godly place; electing Mr. Obama as president. I believe Mrs Palin is a saved godly woman. I am Apostolic to the bone, but I don’t worship an ideal, I worship the God of the ideal. I believe Jesus is the only way to the only God that created heaven and earth. We have 66 books canonized to give the preacher the directions to tell people how to be saved, and give us directions on how to stay that way. I thank God for choosing Paul to help correct the theology of the church. If not we would be saved by adding other stuff to the blood of Jesus. Even after reading the scriptures, we organizational Apostolics come up with some messed up stuff. I thank God for following the theological principles set down by the Apostles. Lastly- while typing this response, a white coworker walked up to me with the stern demanding look on her face and said, “who are you voting for?” I said, “who do you want me to vote for,” she said, “Obama, and you better not let me down.” I said, Okay.” LoL. God bless America |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Jacquie on 9/12/2008 | | I agree gittysbug, I am not looking at a denomination but at the foundational apostolic doctrine. Speaking of white people. I was walking into work this morning and a white woman was saying I don't know what is wrong with Americans but they have to want a change from this last 8 years of chaos. She is voting for Obama. I was home last week end and my door bell rang and standing at the door with his registration forms was a Jewish Attorney walking through the neighborhood making sure everyone was registered to vote for Barack Obama. There are signs throughout my white neighborhood in their yard to vote Obama. Makes me proud to see the change especially in this place which was as racist as in the south when I first moved here 33 years ago. Believe me there is still racism especially in the political realm in this valley, all I can say is Thank God we have come a mighty long way |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By gittysbug on 9/12/2008 | | Jacquie on 9/12/2008- Thanks, I enjoy the interaction on this blog. I am hoping that the attitude of Black Americans-especially saved people- is to walk with this change. This is a very important time in America’s history and the Black American can not afford to allow themselves not to participate in electing Mr Obama as president. Regardless of our views regarding his foolish views, we must do exactly like we did for William Clinton; vote for him. America like any other country will have its division, but like 911 we can pull together for a good common historical cause. If we can release our selves from our own fears as black people, we can knock on doors and speak for the cause of true change. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Jacquie on 9/15/2008 | | I am certainly praying that all saints of the Most High God vote for Mr. Obama and we will pray him through to stand for the righteousness of God |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By gittysbug on 9/15/2008 | | Jacquie, we have to pray that all people vote. Saints dont have enough numbers to carry an election. Many people are now turning to the Obama camp. Which means the effects of my girl Palin is wearing off. Now that McCain is running for President again, he is losing. |

| Re: HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!! | By Maxwell on 1/7/2012 | | First and utmost Praise the Lord. Just found this site Pastor, as you know there are many things our people have fought and die for to reach such a moment as this. It was a great moment when we finally reach this era. But the moment for me was bittersweet. For i new what tomorrow would bring. The haters out of the closet into the full spotlight of the stage. An so it has begone. When have a man been able to curse a president on national television and not be taken down. Just a figure head. They will never allow him to complete anything he sits out to do. In closing, I fear that there won't be another term for him. But it was nice to see a change, even if it was only in the color of the skin. May the Lord watch between you and me. While were absent, one from another, this we ask in Jesus name. Amen always my friend |
