Tonight I viewed on CNN the conversations both Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain had with Pastor Rick Warren of the Saddleback Church in California in a Civil Forum on the Presidency. This is the first occasion for both presumptive nominees to grace the same platform. Soon both candidates will be formally nominated by their parties and the race will officially begin.
In listening to their responses from the questions by Pastor Warren, you can see a stark difference in their style, views and position. Going in the fall campaign, Sen. Obama has maintained a small 6pt lead over Sen. McCain, but their remains about 9% of the electorate that still remain undecided. The election will boil down to how these undecided voters will cast their ballot once they enter the voting booth. In the next few weeks there will be debates and many interviews.
In an environment that was certainly more amenable to Sen. McCain, I feel both candidates showed their individual strengths. It will be a close race and I yet remain hopeful that Sen. Obama will be victorious. We will closely monitor the race after the upcoming nominations and keep reporting to you my views and issues.
If you watched the forum on CNN, please share you views and thoughts. Be blessed!
