Many predicted that after Super Tuesday (February 5th), when 22 states held primaries & caucuses, Senator Hillary Clinton would emerge the front runner as the democratic nominee for President of the United States. Early on it was determined by the pundits and media that after Super Tuesday Sen. Barak Obama would fade into the sunset with his wins up to that date classified as being a fluke. But we can see from the New York Giants, that the underdog can win!

With the Super Tuesday results in (except New Mexico at this writing), Clinton gains 540 delegates with wins in 7 states and Obama gains 539 delegates with wins in 13 states, (based on report published The Washington Post’s website at 11:24 a.m. on February 6th). So much for the predictions and pundits! With his broad appeal to the youth, African-Americans, white males, (and inroads with white females) Obama is proving he has the wide-reaching support to win the nomination. Clinton however still maintains a stronghold with white females and the Hispanic vote.

But I’m really excited to see that the black vote has rallied behind Obama. Initially many in the black community doubted he had what it took to become the nominee by capturing the appeal of the white vote. Consequently, early polls showed Clinton had a wide support within the African-American community (touting former President Bill Clinton as the first “black” President). However after the Iowa caucus, blacks took note and saw Obama’s elect ability. Record numbers of African-Americans, youth, and those looking for change have cast their vote for Obama as the Democratic nominee. Not only are they voting, but they are giving!! Using the internet as the primary source of fund raising, Obama raised $32 million in January. (Hey, I even donated to the cause over the internet!!)

It appears that the decision will go all the way to the Democratic National Convention that will be held August 25-28, 2008 in Denver, Colorado. Two key state primary battlegrounds that will be looked at closely is Ohio and Texas on Tuesday, March 4th.

So, let me ask again, “do you think Obama will win the Democratic nominee for President of the United States?” Also, look for future blogs when we will discuss 1) the possibility of a “Obama-Clinton” or “Clinton-Obama” presidential ticket and 2) will Obama success raise the possibility of an assassination attempt on his life. Be blessed and let me hear from you.

Greetings Pastor. I will say, "YES", it's on. My 10yr old daughter ask me while she watched Super Tuesday announcements, (a school project, I don't think she is my politician), "mom who are you voting for". When I answered her she was appalled to say the least. Joy informed me that she told me that I am to vote for Hillary Clinton inorder for history to be made with the first female President. I proceeded to tell her that history would certainly be made if a black man won as President of the US. I am not at all certain where "Joy" gathered her information to be so adamant about a female President, but it certainly challenged me to do more sharing of her own heritage inorder that she will appreciate where she came from and the road she has yet to travel.
I really wanted to tell her from a woman's lib point of view, that in so many cases the White House has had a male "figure" head seated in the oval office, but everybody knows that next to a successful man is an intelligent successful woman! In my opinion, women have been running this country long before now.

I'm certain my wife will agree with you!

I have been watching the race and it is on. We are making history right now, with a black man coming thus far and not shut down. It is interesting because Hillary has tried to play on the emotions of women and I agree women have been running the country all along. She wants to continue where she left off. I don't think the country really realizes voting for Hillary is not the same as Bill Clinton, they are two different individuals with two separate minds. It remains to be seen who shall be the winner in the long run. All I know is that the saints have the power to determine who shall be our next president.

Congrats my brother. Bishop A Glen Brady. This is great and I applaud you.Now to answer your question. The morning after Iowa as I was waking up the Holy Ghost revealed to me that Senator Obama would move through the country like a locomotive. And also that Senator Obama would be President. The first part is confirmed. Now for the seccond part. I have witnesses because I immediately told the saints what was revealed to me. Remember this is before New Hampshire. I am happy for your blog that gives me the opportunity to let this prophsey go out to a wider audience. Thank you. KGA

I am also excited about the potential of having the first African American President. One thing that has helped to keep me from getting into arguments with others and getting angry about rumors that have circulated about Sen. Obama is the fact that I (we) know that the power is with the saints. I have been praying over Sen. Obama and his family and I know that many others have been doing the same. I know that it is needed not only for his physical protection but I know that the adversary is busy. Although I won't walk around in an Obama '08 tee-shirt my support is no less with him.

interesting... I hear many people saying what is Sen. Obama about? We don't know engoung about him, what change does he want to bring?

and then the question over his faith. even though he has said that he is a Chirstian. the idea that His name was linked to the Muslim faith hinders his advancement in many key christian circles which take up a considerable amount of our population. church-goers or non-church goers

As far as Maryland is concered. He will not win next tues. marylanders son't know engough about him. watch. I'm a prophet....lol God Bless

I think Obama is definitely in good position to contend for the nomination. I want him to win!! However, I do believe it will be a close one. Now, as for a Obama-Clinton or Clinton-Obama ticket ... Although I think America is ready for change, I am not sure America is ready to embrace that degree of change.

This race for the democratic nominee is certainly interesting. Obama's record in senate has been the same as Clinton except for the vote on the war. Therefore, what is the change that Obama refers to so often as he is campaigning. He talks alot about change but he has not expressed what that change is. Therefore, I feel that people are jumping on the band wagon because it seems like the right thing to do. Instead of, really looking for the substance within his campaign.

Re: Well The Race Is On!! By Amaris on 2/13/2008
This race is definitely getting more and more interesting as Obama's supporters surprise many. I was at first apprehensive about Obama winning the Democratic party let alone the presidential election, but it looks like he has a chance of going all the way. What does everyone think about how people are saying that security will have to be ten times as inforced as it is now if Obama goes all the way. I feel that this is also a reason why people are afraid to vote in his favor. I have heard people say that if Obama wins, he won't be in the office very long. Does anyone feel that the voters are actually taking that thought into consideration?

SUPER TUESDAY 2 Bishop Brady how will Senator Obama do in the great state of OHIO your state. He won in my state Maryland.

Re: Well The Race Is On!! By A. Glenn Brady on 2/17/2008
Bishop Allen, The early polls showed that Clinton had the lead. However, I think as we approach March 4th it will reflect a change. Obama is scheduled to be in Youngstown on Mon - Feb 18th. As Obama makes more and more personal appearances, I'm sure it will change more voters toward him.
