HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!!
By A. Glenn Brady on8/29/2008

Last night, I sat with great pride, glued to my television, watching in awe the electrifying acceptance speech of Senator Barak Obama, the Democratic nominee for President of the United States. Delivered on the 45th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s famous, “I Have A Dream” speech, this oration will no doubt go down in history as one of the greatest presidential acceptance speech ever given. David Gergen, senior political analyst for CNN, rightfully called Obama’s speech “a political masterpiece,” He declared, “it was in many ways less a speech than a symphony.” Without a doubt, it was a consonance of political sound that received the approval of a standing ovation from over 75,0 ...

Obama and McCain at Saddleback
By A. Glenn Brady on8/16/2008

Tonight I viewed on CNN the conversations both Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain had with Pastor Rick Warren of the Saddleback Church in California in a Civil Forum on the Presidency. This is the first occasion for both presumptive nominees to grace the same platform. Soon both candidates will be formally nominated by their parties and the race will officially begin.

In listening to their responses from the questions by Pastor Warren, you can see a stark difference in their style, views and position. Going in the fall campaign, Sen. Obama has maintained a small 6pt lead over Sen. McCain, but their remains about 9% of the electorate that still remain undecided. The election will boil down to how these undecided voters will cast their ballot once they enter the voting booth. In the next few weeks there will be debates and many interviews.

"Not Who's Coming To Dinner, But Guess Who Got Married?"
By A. Glenn Brady on6/24/2008

In 2004 when San Francisco defied state law by issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples,  a court later halted the issuances of licenses and declared that same-sex marriages that took place during this period were void. That began the legal wrangling through the courts that made its way to the highest court in California.

On May 15th of this year, the California Supreme Court overturn ...

VICTORY to the Giant Killer
By A. Glenn Brady on6/3/2008
It’s official: After the final two primaries in Montana and South Dakota today, June 3rd, Obama has become a “Giant Killer!” Who would have thought anyone could have defeated the all powerful Clintons (because Obama had to campaign against both Senator Hillary Clinton, as well as the former President Bill Clinton). Entering the campaign, Hillary Clinton knew she was the presumptive democratic nominee. She had the name --- the money [initially] --- the Democratic machine --- the press, she had it all! But she didn’t have a winning plan!!!

OBAMA CAN'T BE DENIED
By A. Glenn Brady on5/23/2008

After the primaries on May 20th, Sen. Barak Obama achieved a milestone by obtaining a majority of the pledged delegates with only undeclared superdelegates remaining. As of this writing, Obama has 1,658 pledged delegates and 307 superdelegates (or a total 1,965) while Sen. Hillary Clinton has achieved 1,500 pledged delegates and 279 superdelegates (or a total 1,779). While neither have achieved the magic number of 2,026 that is needed to secure the nomination, it is clear that there is no way Clinton can win. That is why it is so puzzling as she continues her campaign “full steam ahead” along with her husband (former President Bill Clinton) in her attempt to convince the remaining uncommitted superdelegates to 1) ignore the pledged delegate count, 2) overtu ...

Well The Race Continues Amidst Growing Division
By A. Glenn Brady on4/25/2008

Sen. Obama was unable to close the door on the Democratic nomination with the win of Sen. Clinton in Pennsylvania. Even though it was expected, there was hope that an Obama upset could end the race. Instead, the Democratic party is growing more and more divided.

The question is, "Why is Sen. Clinton still in the race? And what is former President Bill Clinton's problem?" The highest ranking African-American in Congress, House Majority Whip James Clyburn, called the former president's recent conduct "bizarre," and said several of Clinton's actions had deeply upset many African-Americans.

If the poll results from the Pennsylvania primary is any indication, then the democratic vote is dividing between the elderly & white women for Clinton and the youn ...

Do Marriage Vows Mean Anything Anymore?
By A. Glenn Brady on4/1/2008

We’ll return later this month with the “Obama Watch” as we examine the results of the Pennsylvania primary, but I want to discuss some other important issues that is before us. This week’s blog… “Do Marriage Vows Mean Anything Anymore?” ...... Last month Detroit’s ‘hip-hop’ Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was charged wi ...

Is Obama's Bid De-Railed By His Pastor?
By A. Glenn Brady on3/14/2008

Well, it wasn’t Sen. Clinton’s campaign tricks… it wasn’t Sen. McCain and the Republican National Committee…. it wasn’t even the inflammatory remarks by Minister Louis Farrakhan…. But it will be Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the spiritual leader of The Trinity United Church of Christ, Senator Barak Obama’s pastor that de-rails his candidacy to the White House.

Listening to Sen. Obama tonight a ...

Is A "Dream Ticket" Foreseeable -- Obama & Clinton?
By A. Glenn Brady on3/8/2008

On Tuesday, March 4th, I had the privilege to once again engage my right as a citizen of the United States by voting in the presidential primary. I had hoped my vote would have contributed to a win for Senator Barak Obama and thus insure him as the democratic presidential nominee. However, Sen. Hillary Clinton won both of the big states, Texas and Ohio, prolonging the procedure until a later date.

Well The Race Is On!!
By A. Glenn Brady on2/6/2008

Many predicted that after Super Tuesday (February 5th), when 22 states held primaries & caucuses, Senator Hillary Clinton would emerge the front runner as the democratic nominee for President of the United States. Early on it was determined by the pundits and media that after Super Tuesday Sen. Barak Obama would fade into the sunset with his wins up to that date classified as being a fluke. But we can see from the New York Giants, that the underdog can win!
