| Is Obama's Bid De-Railed By His Pastor? | |
| By A. Glenn Brady on3/14/2008 | |
| Well, it wasn’t Sen. Clinton’s campaign tricks… it wasn’t Sen. McCain and the Republican National Committee…. it wasn’t even the inflammatory remarks by Minister Louis Farrakhan…. But it will be Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the spiritual leader of The Trinity United Church of Christ, Senator Barak Obama’s pastor that de-rails his candidacy to the White House. Listening to Sen. Obama tonight a ... | | | Comments (30) | More... |

| Is A "Dream Ticket" Foreseeable -- Obama & Clinton? | |
| By A. Glenn Brady on3/8/2008 | |
| On Tuesday, March 4th, I had the privilege to once again engage my right as a citizen of the United States by voting in the presidential primary. I had hoped my vote would have contributed to a win for Senator Barak Obama and thus insure him as the democratic presidential nominee. However, Sen. Hillary Clinton won both of the big states, Texas and Ohio, prolonging the procedure until a later date. | | | Comments (6) | More... |

| Well The Race Is On!! | |
| By A. Glenn Brady on2/6/2008 | |
| Many predicted that after Super Tuesday (February 5th), when 22 states held primaries & caucuses, Senator Hillary Clinton would emerge the front runner as the democratic nominee for President of the United States. Early on it was determined by the pundits and media that after Super Tuesday Sen. Barak Obama would fade into the sunset with his wins up to that date classified as being a fluke. But we can see from the New York Giants, that the underdog can win!

| Can Obama Become President? | |
| By A. Glenn Brady on1/8/2008 | |
| Well the results are in and the headlines all declare that New York Senator Hillary Clinton is the winner of the Democratic primary in New Hampshire. This is after the surprise victory of Illinois Senator Barak Obama in the Iowa Caucus. There is a wave of excitement as Obama becomes the first African-American touted as a viable candidate that can result with a residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in January 2009. When he declared his presidency, many doubted whether he could rally the white vote and be taken serious. But we’ve seen that in both Iowa and | | Comments (32) | More... |

| NEW YEAR'S GOALS - 2008 | |
| By A. Glenn Brady on1/2/2008 | |
| Happy New Year! I certainly pray that you had a blessed and enjoyable Christmas holiday. A new year always brings the opportunity to make new plans and goals that you want to accomplish. While some bemoan the thought of even making goals and plans (using as their benchmark the failure of previous years planning), the beginning of a new year always provides a “clean slate” and becomes a launching point to catapult your dreams to reality! | | | Comments (3) | More... |

| BEYOND THE JENA 6 | |
| By A. Glenn Brady on10/22/2007 | |
| Certainly by now you have at least heard about the “Jena 6,” unless you’ve lived on a deserted island isolated from any contact with the outside world. So just in case you have recently been rescued, let me give you a brief synopsis of what’s happened: On December 4, 2006, six black teenagers were charged with the beating of Justin Barker, a white teenager at Jena High School in Jena, Louisiana. The beating followed a number of racially-charged incidents in the town, notably when three white teens were accused of hanging nooses in a tree on their high school grounds. They were suspended from school, but they were not criminally prosecuted. Barker was not involved in the no ... | | | Comments (6) | More... |

| GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER? | |
| By A. Glenn Brady on8/21/2007 | |
| A recent Associated Press article appeared on CNN.com entitled, “Could Mr. Right Be White? – More Black Women Consider Dating Out.” It deals with the fact that Black women around the country are reconsidering interracial relationships. Of course I had to reflect back on the 1967 Academy Award-winning classic entitled, “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner?” In that film a young White American woman has a whirlwind romance with an African-American (played by Sidney Poitier) and they plan to marry. The plot is centered around the young woman’s return to her home in San Francisco, California | | | Comments (20) | More... |

| WHEN TO STEP DOWN? | |
| By A. Glenn Brady on8/2/2007 | |
| There is something about wisdom & maturity that allows you to see the need to remove yourself from a position when you are no longer relative or productive in the office you serve. However, sometimes age does not always bring that wisdom & maturity. I have seen too many cases when a church, council, organization or even a Sunday school class becomes stagnant and dies because leadership held on to a position too long. I guess this subject became poignant to me upon my return from the ... | | | Comments (25) | More... |
